The Latest Drop: Samsung Galaxy S23

If you've been keen for the Samsung Galaxy S23 to come out since last year, then you must be excited for the extremely close release right around the corner! Here are some answers to questions you may have had about the brand new Samsung mobile device all bundled into one and in easy bites.

When does the Samsung Galaxy S23 come out?

Although pre-orders are already out for this phone, the official release date is February 17th, 2023.

What models are included in the Samsung S23 line?

There are 3 models coming out in the S23 line. These include: Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

What are the colours Samsung Galaxy S23 line will release?

One of the most important aspects to most people of choosing a new phone is the colour, as it is a way to personalise it to you. Whether you've been wanting a minimalist black or a nice pop of colour, you'll probably be satisfied with the colours available.

The Galaxy S23 and S23+ colours are: Green, Phantom Black, Cream and Lavender. If you're ordering online on the official Samsung site, the extra exclusive colours are Lime and Graphite.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra colours are: Green, Phantom Black, Cream and Lavender. The online exclusive colours for the S23 Ultra has a larger range than the other 2 models which include: Lime, Sky Blue, Graphite and Red.

What is the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23?

There are not a lot of major differences between the 2 different phones. We have collated all the differences we've noticed and heard about below.

  • Slight design change - the back of the S23 is completely flat and smooth, whereas the S22 had a slightly raised platform around the cameras. There are also different colour options available for the phones.
  • Camera - The Selfie Camera has gone from 10MP to 12MP with the S23. According to Samsung, they have improved its Nightography low-light mode, letting you take vibrant and crispy photos and videos during the night. They've also added new features like astro hyperlapse mode for capturing the stars in the night sky over a prolonged period of time.
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chip - With the upgraded powerful chip, you can expect a higher performance. The S22 was launched with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the US and the Exynos 2200 chip to all other countries which is inferior to the Snapdragon. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is available for all countries and it has been specifically optimised for the Galaxy phone.
  • Battery - The battery capacity has increased by 200 mAh, from 3700 to 4500 for the Galaxy S23 and 3900 to 4700 for the S23 Plus. But charging capabilities have not changed between the devices.

Should I upgrade my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S23?

If you've been holding onto an old phone for a while, then getting the newest phone on the market is a no-brainer. HOWEVER, if you own a Galaxy S22, the choice to upgrade your phone is not necessary as the small updates are nice but not life changing.
