Samsung Galaxy S23 vs 22 & Ultra

The long wait is over! The Samsung Galaxy S23 line’s release is on February 17—and tech savvies definitely can’t wait to get their hands on the newest member of the premium Galaxy S line.

As far as we can tell, it hasn't been long since Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S22 and 22 Ultra last year, with the latter being the superior of the S22 series. It has everything that modern smartphone users want, from a better camera and longer battery life to faster charging and a bigger screen.

But now that the S23 is coming out, will this change your mind about the S22 range? And will it be better than its predecessors at keeping up with people’s changing lifestyles? Keep reading to know more about Samsung Galaxy’s latest drop:

What are the main differences?

Camera Specs

The S22 features a triple rear camera featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture.

Meanwhile, S22 Ultra's quad rear camera has a 108-megapixel main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and two 10MP telephoto lenses, one with f/4.9 aperture and 10x zoom and the other with f/2.4 aperture and 3x zoom.

S23’s camera has a 50-megapixel main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, with f/2.2 aperture and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. In contrast, the S23 Ultra's main camera packs a whopping 200 megapixels of resolution, making it a top choice for those who value high-quality imaging above all else.

With these features, you'll have no trouble getting clear and vibrant photos whether you're at a concert or just hanging out with friends. When it comes to taking selfies, the S23 is your new best friend, thanks to its front camera's Dual Pixel technology, which allows for faster and more accurate focusing in low light.

Battery Life

When fully charged, S22 Ultra's 5000 mAh battery allows for around 15 hours of continuous use, while the S22's 3700 mAh battery is best for individuals who don't need as much runtime. If you’re considering switching to the S23, its battery has 3900 mAh, which is only 200 more than the S22. S23 Ultra, on the other hand, has a 5000mAh battery and can potentially last for 13-15 hours of use.

5G Network

Stay in touch with family and friends whenever and wherever you like. Easily show off your latest travel photos or challenge your friends to a quick game with just the touch of a finger. Whether you choose the S22, the S22 Ultra or the newest S23, all of the phones have been set up for a 5g network so you can use the fastest mobile connection.

Display

With the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra, you can play mobile games at a higher resolution and enjoy smoother streaming. The S22 sports a 6.1-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution, while S22 Ultra has a 6.81-inch screen with Quad HD+ resolution.

As for the S23 dimensions, it shares the same 6.1-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution as the S22. All phone models also come with scratch-resistant glass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and HDR support.

What are the S23 capabilities?

In a nutshell, there’s the large, high-resolution screen that lets you enjoy entertainment in a more immersive way. It has a top-tier processor and graphics card, so it can handle even the most demanding tasks and other programs with ease.

The Samsung Galaxy S series has always been front-and-centre when it comes to camera capabilities, providing smartphone users with the perfect tool for taking unforgettable moments. With the S23, you can expect more advanced features like optical zoom, portrait mode, and the ability to take photos in low light. Of course, the safety of our users is our number one priority. Always keep your data and device secure with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and facial recognition technology.

The Galaxy S23 and S23+ come in Phantom Black, Green, Cream, and Lavender. If you're ordering online on the official Samsung site, the extra exclusive colours are Lime and Graphite.

For S23 Ultra, you get to choose among Lime, Sky Blue, Graphite and Red when you buy directly from Samsung.

Is it worth the wait?

Changing from your current S22 to the newest S23 sure makes sense, but it still depends on your lifestyle. When compared to the S22, the S23 doesn't feel much different in terms of size, dimensions or battery life.

The camera, on the other hand, is undoubtedly the nicest upgrade. Its maximum brightness can reach up to 1,750 nits, making it ideal for taking selfies that look just as good as they do in real life and recording the greatest moments from a night out. The S23 line, of course, isn't only about taking great photos; it also has ample storage space to keep precious memories and a powerful chipset for gamers to enjoy a smooth gaming experience.
